It is estimated that there will be close to 300 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors to the fair, which will be held for the first time at the Metropolitan Santiago convention center. Santiago, July 17, 2023.- The main players in the global agri-food industry will meet in Santiago de Chile between October 24 and 26 to participate in the First International Congress and Fair on Innovation and Technologies in Agri-Food, CfiAgrotech 2023. The meeting is organized by FISA, of the GL events Group, in conjunction with the National Society of Agriculture (SNA), the main guild that brings together producers and federations linked to agriculture and agribusiness in the country. The event will bring together in one place the Chilean agri-food industry with national and foreign actors for the promotion, marketing, networking and strengthening of the agri-food sector in the country and its entire chain. The objectives of CFIAgrotech are to strengthen Chile as an agri-food power; to showcase achievements and local production capacity; to contribute to attracting new sources of financing and national and international actors; to introduce new technology, knowledge and actors to the market; to exchange experiences and knowledge at a time of high demand for healthy ingredients and foods; and to rescue and bring to the country the experience and network of contacts of CFIA France and Agrobofoods Europe. Paula Miranda, manager of CfiAgrotech, informed that the initiative will bring together close to 300 exhibitors of innovation, technologies, inputs and services for the sustainability of agriculture, livestock and the food processing industry. The fair, which will have indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, will be held at the Metropolitan Santiago, nominated as the “Best meeting and conference center in South America” at the World Travel Awards (WTA). “In this event we want to achieve a positive “match” between supply and demand of the agri-food industry, giving space, in addition, for all the technological innovation that is revolutionizing the sector, both in our country and worldwide. We are convinced that there will be interesting opportunities for the generation of new business and the exchange of valuable experiences and lessons learned”, he said. MAIN NEW FEATURES “The strong innovation component is one of the most relevant features of the First International Congress and Fair of Innovation and Technologies in Agrifood, CFIAgrotech. For example, at the Congress we will have speakers related to robotics, Artificial Intelligence and digitalization, among other subjects, where we will be able to learn about the main trends worldwide”, Miranda highlighted. Regarding the fair, the executive explained that it will be divided into three areas: Sustainable Agricultural Production, Sustainable Animal Production and Food Transformation. The first two are focused on sustainable agricultural and livestock production, respectively, where technologies and innovation in agricultural and livestock production will be presented; traceability; data science and IoT; ecological footprint and circularity; production efficiency; health, prevention and control of diseases and pests; certifications and green financing. Meanwhile, the third pavilion will be dedicated to food processing and value addition. Exhibitors will present products and services in areas such as sustainable ingredients and raw materials; packaging technologies; labeling and trends; food safety and quality; food processing and transformation technologies; and biotechnologies, biomaterials and new food matrices. “The hallmark of this fair is innovation and technology for the sustainability of a traditional industry that is constantly renewing itself. It is an event that represents all the sectors that seek to build, invest, improve, modernize and optimize production in the agri-food and agro-technologies sector, in order to achieve the sustainability of the agri-food industry,” explains Paula Miranda. “All this makes the fair very attractive for exhibitors to come and present and market their solutions based on innovation and technology, where startups and technological SMEs have a special space for dynamization,” she added. As for the visiting public, he says that they are targeting a very varied one, ranging from professionals and representatives of companies throughout the agri-food value chain, national and foreign, to entrepreneurs and startups, as well as students and teachers of careers in the area, along with authorities and leaders of trade organizations in the field.
